Mother dogs reprimand their pups by picking them up by the neck with their teeth, which relaxes the pup and stops the unwanted behavior. This is the same principal the Herm Sprenger training collar employs.
Proper use of training collars results in easier and faster training for both the dog and the trainer. Each interlocking link has rounded prongs that pinch when the collar is tightened. No pressure is put directly on the trachea. Professional obedience training is recommended to effectively fit and use this tool. Training collars are not to be used with puppies under 6 months of age.
