Complete Petmart opened in 1985 under the ownership of Clay and Mary Mathile, who were the original owners of Iams. 10 years later the company was purchased by Kevin Manley and Tim Rogers. There are currently 30 Complete Petmart store locations, including the headquarters office which is located in Dayton, Ohio.
Complete Petmart focuses on giving their customers the best experience possible, by having educated staff members and by offering a selection of premium items that you cannot necessarily purchase at a big box store. They also specialize in carrying a much larger selection of premium dog and cat food. Kim Woollard, the marketing director, mentioned “The employees are knowledgeable on what sets apart premium food from other brands of food”. “Complete Petmart specializes in super premium nutrition”. One of their slogans is “The Healthiest Pet Foods Available”.
When asked what Complete Petmart likes best about Coastal, Kim answered “The great customer service”. “It’s easy to get a hold of someone and you always get an answer.” Besides the great customer service, Kim stated “Coastal has a lot of basic products at reasonable prices, and Coastal is doing a great job at introducing new products that are keeping up with the trends”. She likes the fact that Coastal is introducing items that customers are requesting.
